Aurangabad: The Aurangabad bench of the Bombay high court (HC) allowed a 13-year-old girl, who was a rape survivor from the district, to medically terminate her 23-week pregnancy, on Thursday. The girl’s father had approached the Highcourt in order to take permission to end the pregnancy.
The petition filed in the court stated that the girl was raped by an unidentified person when she had gone to a nearby field to relieve herself, this year in the month of January. She did not inform her parents or anyone else about the rape. In the month of April, she had a stomachache and was prescribed painkillers and acidity regulators unknowingly the cause of pain. However, a sonography scan was done at a prominent hospital when she again complained of severe stomach pain in June which revealed that she was 6 months pregnant.
